On the evening of May 22, in Hanoi, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa chaired the program praising “Innovative enterprises inapplying environmental technology for national target on sustainable growth”in 2017. The program is hosted by the Ministry of Natural Resources & Environment and organized by the Newspaper of Natural Resources and Environment.

At her opening speech,Vice Minister Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa said that the program has contributed to propagandizing and encouraging enterprises to apply environmental science and technology into production; applying cleaner production technologies and processes to reduce greenhouse gases. At the same time, there is commitment to use energy efficiently and economically; increase the use of clean and renewable energy; improve waste treatment and develop environmentally friendly products.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa emphasized that in the context of depletion of resources, reduction of biodiversity, increase inenvironmental pollution and climate change, many countries have chosen green economy as a new development model to solve complex problems simultaneously.
“Protecting the environment is the investment into development. We want the enterprises tofollow the responsibility and spirit of the Government,which is “to create, act and stay close to the people”..., start-up businesses need to invest in environmental protection”–affirmed Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa.
At the meeting, the majority of businesses said that in order to create opportunities for technological innovation towards the green economy, businesses need to thoroughly grasp the new guidelines and policies of the Party and Government. The current trend is encouraging and facilitating enterprises with innovative technology to implement programs and targets on Green Growth Strategy and transform the model into a green economy...When entrepreneurs participate in this program, they will gain great benefits not onlyfor the businessesthemselves but also for the community and the people.
Delegatesshared their opinions at the meeting
The meeting is also an opportunity for businesses to share the process of technological innovation towards green economy development; simultaneously report to ministries and localities about the mechanism’s difficulties in the process of research, application and investment in new technologies. Particularly,it is difficult to find preferentialfinancial sources, policies and forms of supporting enterprises, especially in consumption of green products.
At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa and Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Van Tung presented medals to participants of the meeting on behalf of the Organizing Committee.
