Environmental degradation, depletion of natural resources and climate change are happening rapidly and unpredictably, posing great challenges to humanity. In order to promote cooperation to deal with this situation, the High Level Partnership Forum for Global Green Growth 2030 (3GF) was held in Hanoi.
Overview of Green Growth Forum (3GF) Roundtable
Under the theme "Green Global Partnership 2030"the 3GF Roundtable chaired by Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha and Danish Minister for Development Cooperation Ms.Ulla Tørnæsobtained the success.
The 3GF initiated by Denmark, is a forum of the world - where to launch and create green growth solutions that can be replicated through annual activities. The forum aims to connect intelligentsia, businessman, governments, financial institutions and civil society to find and share the latest evidence of green growth. The Forum also seeks, connects, inspires and supports ideas that can lead to long-term green growth. The Forum also is a place for leaders of countries to discusson the vision of a greener future.
Vietnam is the eighth core member of the Global Green Growth Forum (3GF) along with Denmark, South Korea, Mexico (2011), China, Kenya, Qatar (2012) and Ethiopia (2014). The 3GF Roundtable had the attendance of policy makers, scientists and business community. This marked the beginning of 3GF's innovation process to contribute to global efforts for achieving sustainable development goals and to contribute to the overall success of the United Nations’Conference which will take place in New York in this September.
Speaking at the meeting, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha said that pollution, environmental degradation, depletion of natural resources and climate change are happening and more quickly, complicated and unpredictable. That is posing great challenges to the internationalhumanity and every nation. Addressing these challenges is both an urgent need and an important driving force for promoting sustainable development in each country, region and the whole of humanity. It requires a close cooperation among nations. regions and international organizations.
In this context, international cooperation frameworks, including the 3GF Forum, play an important role in enhancing connectivity, seeking partnerships, and fostering collaborative opportunities to implementprojects in order to address these challenges, contributing to the sustainable future.
Therefore, the 3GF Forum needs to find solutions to innovate, diversify its activities, and towards its deep and effective co-operation activities to assert its pioneering role in order to address hot and urgent issues on the environment, climate change, contributing positively tosustainable development promotion in the world.
At the meeting, the delegates reviewed the cooperation of partners under the framework of 3GF in recent years, the lessons learned from member countries. The meeting also proposed specific measures for member countries including Vietnam in order to improve its contributing efficiency in the 3GF. Thank to that, it can promote the involvement of the business community in cooperative activities in many fields.
As the newest member to the 3GF, Vietnam is paying a lot of efforts to contribute to 3GF's activities, as well as the global development. Viet Nam commits to accompany with 3GF’sother members to highlighten the cooperation of this important Forum, contributing todevelopment of the 3GF and the global sustainable development efforts.
